About Us
| 5 Fish Designs is the unique artistic collaboration of husband & wife team, Karl and Krista Tseu. We love creating glass, it's pretty much the coolest job ever! Spending over almost two decades creating together, we've got quite a few design tricks up our sleeves!
I (Krista) tend to work mainly in Italian glass, with a concentration in Focals (I love them!) and bead sets. Striving to reflect uniqueness and spontaneity in all of my glass and jewelry works in my main goal. During the initial design and construction process, I never plan or sketch an art creation as the current flow of the moment is my primary method of both concept and design. This is when I create my best work, pure flow and no plan. Karl, the complete opposite, he's all about "the" plan! Karl is the man behind the boro glass, all those gorgeous boro beads and flameworked sculptures are his designs. Ideas for Karl's glass sculptures emerge from observation of the natural world, particularly wild birds and amphibians. Mixed color combinations in Karl's borosilicate glass bead sets and focal pieces are heavily influenced by the many colors in nature and in the universe. Having the ability to completely customize our bead designs with borosilicate and Italian glass lends us the ability to create truly one-of-a-kind beads and jewelry designs that you will not find anywhere else! 5 Fish Designs Glass Art Beads, Jewelry and Sculpture has been featured in numerous magazines (articles and tutorials), table top art and instructional books, calendars and art museums.
